Time is a man made concept. We seem to want to keep track of every second of our lives. How about living in the moment for once? Stop everything you are doing and realize that your are a living creature on this spinning rock in the middle of space that is bigger than we can comprehend. Why must we measure every waking moment of our lives? Everyone always talks about how people were happier back then, how times were simpler.
We keep track of how long everyone lives, and we stop to keep track of someone after they die unless they are extremely important. Age means nothing, what means everything is how mature you are. It’s not your “time” on Earth that makes you who you are, but rather the experiences you’ve had.
Whether the Bible is real and humans started keeping track of the years back then, whether the sundial was truly the first “clock”, we have made time so important as our species has evolved. In the end the Earth revolves around the sun and we have day and night. Do you see animals keeping track of time? No. Imagine if your dog wore a watch and barked when it needed to go out based on a schedule. Animals eat when they are hungry, sleep when they are tired, have sex when they are horny… They do those things when they need to.
Tell me that when humans started out on this Earth we kept track of every second, minute, day, week, and year. If we lived like we needed to survive instead of taking everything for granted and looking so far ahead maybe people would value life more. I’m not saying enjoy the minutes, I’m saying enjoy the moment in which you are in.
We see death on the news all the time and honestly I know it doesn’t mean much to you if its not someone you know, but realize how easily you can lose your life and appreciate everything. No matter how bad your day is going, you are alive. Live your life to the fullest. Screw “YOLO”, don’t be stupid about your life, it is precious. Live how you want to, and do what makes you happy. This man-made concept of time is flawed and it’s unfortunate to see people let it affect them and their lives so negatively.
